Month: October 2018

SUMMARY OF SEPTEMBER 2018 MESSAGES

Last month, I preached/shared series of messages as part of the “Spirit-filled Pentecost; Spirit-filled believers.” And in connection with our Mission Statement: LGCOG is a body of Spirit filled believers committed to grow in the Lord and to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

First, PERSECUTED, BUT NOT ABANDONED in Acts 12 (September 9).

Despite of the persecution of all Christians and it seems that the evil one is winning, let us remember that God is in control. Prayers will work as the righteous will pray sincerely to God and God will intervene in His own majestic ways. We should always give back the Glory that belongs to God alone. As we advance God’s kingdom here on earth, we should have a mindset of mission and vision driver church.

So, the bottom line is, whether the Almighty God delivers us from persecution or whether we die for our faith, we must commit ourselves to the furtherance of His Gospel.
Whatever the cost, may we all commit ourselves to the cause of the unbeatable Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Second, LIFE ON THE JOURNEY; SENT-OUT in Acts 13:1-12 (September 16).

As we approach this first “call” to missionary service, let us remember that it was a wonderful, ideal experience, but it was not necessarily a typical one. God’s guidance sometimes comes through pleasant circumstances, and at other times it comes through painful or even tragic circumstances.

We can see in Acts 13, that Spirit-filled church is a driven by missions and Spirit-filled believers’ triumph against opposition thru the power of the Holy Spirit and in the Name of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Romans 8:31-32 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Third, THE IMPACT OF GOD’S WORD IN OUR LIVES in Acts 13:13-52 (September 23).

In order for us to make an impact to the world, we need the Word of God first to impact our lives, so we can manifest it to the whole world. One of the greatest needs of our present time is the need to restore full confidence in God’s Word to accomplish God’s work.

One passage of Scripture that demonstrates this well is Acts 13:13-52. It contains Paul’s first and longest sermon that is recorded in the book of Acts. You may notice that no publicity was given to it before it was preached, and yet it produced tremendous results.

So how did it happen? Because of God’s Amazing Word; the Impact and Warning of God’s Word. Isaiah 55:11  So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me [a]void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Fourth, THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS in Proverbs 18:21 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit (September 30).
A formidable power dwell within each of us. This power has changed the course of nations. It is capable of starting and ending wars. And it has made men rich and women famous. It has the means to commend or corrupt—to bless or to blame. It is the power of the tongue.
How could we ever hope to tame such a thing as the tongue (James 3:1-12)? We are accountable for what we say; our tongue is so small and yet very powerful and terrible; blessing and cursing comes out from the same mouth.
Jesus said in Matthew 15:18, “Those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.”
Psalm 34:12-13, wrote, “He who would love life and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.”
I pray that you will learn from the messages above; apply the Word of God and the lessons from His Word in your everyday life. Have a great and Blessed day!

Thanks God bless!
