PENTECOST – the coming of the Holy Spirit!

Greetings!

We recently celebrated the Pentecost – the coming of the Holy Spirit, the 50th day after Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead. Before Jesus Christ ascended into heaven on the 40th day after His resurrection, He promised to send us another Helper in the person of the Holy Spirit. He never left us orphans and He fulfilled that promised on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 1:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Jesus promised to His disciples:

• Power – when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and:
• To be My Witnesses – Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the end of the earth.

Acts 2:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Coming of the Holy Spirit
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord[a] in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Pentecost gave the disciples a power, a sense of direction, and a purpose. Drifting ceased. Wherever they went, they were now men and women with a mission. They knew that everything they did, every person they met, was an opportunity placed in their paths by the Holy Spirit.

The same Holy Spirit that was given on the day of Pentecost is the same Holy Spirit that we have right now. If they experienced this on the book of Acts, we can also experience it today! Open your heart; Repent and turn away from your sins. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior! Jesus died for our sins and on the third day has risen from the dead and He is now alive forevermore. RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT NOW!

Have a blessed day!
